SERVE THE VISION CARRIERS

You hardly ever see people that are truly successful that got to that point all by themselves. As a matter of fact, I think you never see it. We need a team of people beside us that are willing to not only work “for” us, but work with us to accomplish the goal. What happens in great businesses is, after the vision has been created, the leader is able to hand it off to the people working with him, and they oversee and carry out the day-to-day tasks to accomplish your goals. In that way, you can think of the people who work for your business as vision carriers. It is important to note, that if you want your vision to be carried out successfully, you cannot simply pass it off and forget about it. It is your responsibility to serve your vision carriers as they work to accomplish the goals you have handed them.

Many leaders make the mistake of treating employees as expendable, but here’s the truth: you need those people. Their skills, their passion, and their level of buy in, in the day-to-day functions of the workplace are absolutely irreplaceable, if you want to accomplish your vision. Great leaders understand that they are actually working for the employees, not the other way around. Why? If these are the people carrying out your vision, then you want to make sure that they are set up for success in every way possible. That means that your job is to make sure they are bought in, trained well, and feel they have a place on your team.

Everyone who works for you carries a level of potential that can bring further success both to them and your business. You get the enormous honor of serving these people into their potential. What does that mean? Serving people into their potential is not only calling out what someone is capable of achieving, but giving them resources, time, and opportunities that will elevate them into greater success. The bottom line is when your employees are successful, you are successful. The best way to be a great influencer is to ensure people that you are not just in it for yourself, but that you genuinely want to see them succeed
